You could install a fence, but if you’re looking for natural beauty, planting a row of trees along either your deck or patio is a great option.

Build Your Deck or Patio Around a Tree

You will need to clean up more often since all of the leaves and debris will be falling directly onto your deck or patio, but if you want a natural look, making a tree the centerpiece of your deck or patio is a great idea. A ring will be outlined, and while it doesn’t have to be in the middle, we’ve always found that the most aesthetically pleasing spot. Having a tree be the focal point of your deck or patio provides you with an unrivaled natural feel.

Create a Path to Your Deck or Patio Using Trees and Other Natural Elements

Depending on where your deck or patio is located on your property, and what else you have on your property, a pathway made of trees could be a great idea. Your pathway could be outlined with concrete, stones, or pavers, but a dirt path in between two rows of trees is a very elegant and natural look — if that’s what you’re interested in. You could have the pathway linking your deck or patio to your home, pool, shed, garage, firepit, or any other area of use around your home.
